This is Peter’s Grandpa, Edward Costello, the guy who gave Peter his first jack knife and taught him how to use it. They went fishing on a party boat and caught Boston mackerel off of Plum Island. The special bond between a boy and his loving grandpa can’t be forgotten, and the look on young Peter’s face says it all (plus the fact he’s holding more fish than “Pop”)!  Summer of 1953.
