A Sea Life Adventure: Three True Friends
August 31, 2022
Sally
and Susie
Are sister seahorses
Who swam in the sea
So deep.
They swam and they sang
As seahorses do,
About a friend so true.
Tommy the Turtle
,
A very good turtle,
(True friend and totally cute):
Tommy could whistle a catchy tune,
As the sister seahorses sang along, too.
One day while they swam,
The three friends,
Good and true,
Heard someone crying behind some seaweed.
The three friends took a look
And found the sound,
Of a heart, broken so deep.
“Hello!” Sally
Seahorse said.
“Why are you sad?” asked her sister, Susie
.
And a dolphin
, no more than two,
Answered through tears,
And told them his fears,
“I’ve done something bad
“And Mom’s going to be mad
“And she won’t love me ever again!”
With this the tears came down,
Harder than ever before,
And his sobs were bigger and more!
“Don’t cry!” Sally
said,
“Please, don’t cry!”
“It will be alright!” Susie
Joined her sister and smiled.
“Your Mom will still love you.”
Sally
said sweetly,
“And I’m sure she’s worried about you.”
Susie
added, handing the dolphin a tissue.
“But I’ve been so bad!”
Dolphin
said, sniffling,
“I broke something and told Mom a lie.”
His chin started shaking,
His lips went to quaking,
And bigger tears welled up in his eyes.
“I did that once,” Tommy Turtle
said, shyly.
“I broke Mom’s favorite vase.”
“I blamed the wind, but she knew,
“I was no older than you…”
Tommy
stopped because everyone was staring.
“Didn’t she hate you?”
Dolphin
asked slowly,
Almost in a whisper.
“No,” Tommy
replied.
“She loved me and found me,
“Even though I tried to hide.”
Susie
and Sally
Seahorse smiled,
“Now, see?” Sally
said, smiling,
“Your Mom will still love you, too.”
Susie
chimed in, “The thing that you broke
“Isn’t as important as you,
“And she loves you no matter what.”
Tommy’s
head nodded,
And he took Dolphin’s
flipper,
And started swimming toward
Where the Dolphins live.
“It’ll be okay,
“Just don’t stay away
“From those who love you so much!”
Sally
and Susie
sang a little song,
To help Dolphin
understand where he belongs,
It went something a little like this:
“Don’t be afraid when things go wrong,
“Your Momma loves you, oh so strong.
“You’re her child, that matters most.
“It’s not what you did that she will boast.
“She’s looking for you, on that do count!
“So, let’s take you home, no search to mount!
“Don’t be afraid when things go wrong,
“Your Momma loves you oh so strong.”
Sally
, Susie
and Tommy
all sang and whistled
So sweetly as they led Dolphin
to his Mom
That Dolphin
barely noticed he was being led at all.
Soon, they had Dolphin
to his Mom and she thanked
The three true friends and kissed Dolphin
and held him tight.
As they waved goodbye, Sally
, Susie
and Tommy
sang again,
“Don’t be afraid when things go wrong,
“Your Momma loves you oh so strong.
“You’re her child, that matters most.
“It’s not what you did that she will boast.
“She’s looking for you on that do count!
“So, let’s take you home, no search to mount!
“Don’t be afraid when things go wrong,
“Your Momma loves you oh so strong.”
The End.
