This carving by Peter Costello is part of the history of Costello Coastal Knobs. It shows you where he developed his technique, his style and his ability with the carving knife. This bufflehead was carved in September of 1978 and it won a first place prize in a local duck decoy carving contest. It was the first carving contests Peter entered and he won two firsts that day!
