BlogBits™: Mallard

Mallards are beautiful and amazing ducks whose males can fly as fast as 55 mph, and have been recorded flying at 21,000 feet high, which helps them migrate over 900 miles in a day! A banded mallard was found to be no fewer than 27 years old. Even though the male’s mating colors makes his beak more vibrant and his legs turn reddish, that’s just mating colors and not a different species of mallard. At Costello Coastal Knobs, we have a mallard pull that will remind you of these facts.
