Refresh Your Coastal Colors

If you want to refresh your coastal color scheme for the new year, but you’re not sure where to start, or what is new, let’s give you some options.

Sherwin Williams offers colors like Tradewind, Waterscape, Naval and a beautiful palette of other coastal colors. Imagine Sea Salt, a light blue with a touch of grey and lavender, in your bathroom with polished marble shower stall, a hexagonal graphite tile floor, a freestanding bathtub that will accentuate the feel of the ocean and a beautiful, marble double-sink vanity will make your bathroom a coastal spa bathroom that will make you not want to leave it!

There are other colors from other paint companies, and they have some suggestions, too. Like an ocean-inspired color palette for a baby’s room, or Valspar’s colors of 2023 are available for use. Try their Ivory Brown in the kitchen or dining room for a sandy background, do an accent wall or cabinets painted with Rising Tide, a beachy trestle dining table will go with the look, as well as a rustic hutch to display your seaside themed dishes, sea shells, or coastal figurines.

Better Homes & Gardens suggest there are five color trends to say goodbye to in 2023. They say to go bolder, use mid-tones rather than softer pastels. There are at least 23 ways to choose the colors that are right for your room and personality. Farrow and Ball has eleven new colors for the year and colors like Kittiwake and Eddy are perfect for a coastal color scheme. Throw in a little Bamboozle as an accent color and (with apologies to Emeril Lagasse), “Bam!” you have a beautiful room that will wow your guests.

Did you know that even front doors have color trends for the year? Yep. Martha Stewart has seven suggestions for 2023 for your front door. Pale Green and Cool Powder Blue will suit your coastal color décor.

The Nordroom has a list of 2023 paint colors, too. Glidden also has a list of 2023 colors. Dulux has colors for 2023 and they’re beautiful, also. I suggest using some of the Raw colors with some of the Flow colors. They will work well together, as will the Buzz colors with the Lush colors. It’s all a matter of which colors you choose from those groups.

Behr’s colors for 2023 is a group of twelve gorgeous colors and Spanish Sand and Half Sea Fog are nice choices to use together in a bedroom, living room, or anywhere, actually. PPG has their 2023 color palette. Designers have different choices for what’s best this year.

The fact is, there are so many, many choices that I would recommend that you do one of two things. When you find a color you like, go with it. Or, find a fabric, dishes, figurine, or piece of art or photo you like, pick the colors from that, and use those colors for your room. When you do it this way, you can’t go wrong because someone else has already done the color choices, but you get the benefit of their work.

Here at Costello Coastal Knobs, we want you to be able to have the coastal look you love. Our cabinet knobs will accent that colorful effort. Contact us today for the perfect knobs to order your coastal cabinet knobs.

Bold Colorful Coastal

October 03, 2024

When we think of “coastal décor” we usually think of white, off-white, soft blues and greens and shiplap and light wood tones. That’s what the “traditional” Western “coastal décor” consists of, but not every country is under the “Western” influence when it comes to their coastal choices.
